There are quite a few people out there who think that Mexico is nothing more than sombreros and tequila. Believe it or not, Mexico is a pretty great place to travel to. There are beaches, resorts, mountains, and amazing food that you just shouldn’t miss out on during your lifetime.

It has been said that Mexican people are some of the friendliest individuals in the world. Although it’s a beautiful place to visit, it can be quite humid and hot, so it’s suggested that you invest in a dehumidifier of some kind that you can take on vacation with you if you’re staying in a hotel without one. Check out what else you have to look forward to if you plan to visit Mexico.

Marvelous Landmarks

Once you enter Mexico, you may be greeted by a number of landmarks, especially as you are traveling through.

The Pyramids

Ancient Mexico Pyramid

The pyramids, left behind by the pre-columbian civilizations, still exist to this day and they are absolutely breathtaking. Just outside of Puebla is the Great Pyramid of Cholula. This is the largest pyramid in Mexico. You then have the pyramids of the sun and moon, Kukulkan, Magician, and the Temple of the inscriptions.

Religious Landmarks

Basilica Of Guadalupe

Next, you can see some of the religious landmarks such as the Basilica of Guadalupe and the Metropolitan Cathedral. These are by far the two most important churches in Mexico, found in Mexico City. Amongst other religious spots, the most beautiful of them all is the Morelia cathedral that features 200 foot towers.

Natural Landmarks

Copper Canyon

Along with the pyramids and the religious landmarks are the natural landmarks. These include 11 gorges such as the Copper Canyon. All of the gorges in Mexico make up an area larger than the Grand Canyon. The Arch is one of the best photo spots in all of Mexico, located in the Cabo San Lucas resort destination. If you’re a mountaineer, check out the Popocatepetl. This is a dormant lxtaccihuatl that features twin peaks and is extremely challenging for mountaineers.

Beach Resorts

The beach resorts in Mexico are beautiful if you go to the right place. One of the most beautiful resorts is the Melia Cabo Real beach resort. This area is between the towns of Cabo San Lucas and San Jose del Cabo. It’s the largest of them all in Los Cobos and features over 300 luxurious rooms. It also has one of the largest pools in Mexico. This resort offers a stunning view of the Pacific Ocean and a marvelous green golf course.

One of the other fantastic places to stay is Maroma Beach. This is probably one of the most exquisite secret beaches in Mexico. It features over 500 acres of beach land and rain forests. It’s located about 30 miles south of Cancun, but is not bothered by the tourists during spring break. Vacationers can enjoy warm azure waters, amazing white sands, and a beautiful tropical foliage.

Conclusion

As you can see, mexican isn’t all about the partying or the misrepresentations by many people around the world. You may hear a lot about college kids visiting Cancun on their spring breaks, but Mexico is much more than just that. With that being said, don’t hesitate to visit the beauteous landmarks, churches, and resorts on your next family vacation.
